In Le Puy-en-Velay, a hilly village with volcanic cores everywhere and churchy things on the top of all!
Well, have myself registered as a pilgrim, so can stay at lots of places that are reserved strictly for pilgrims. Thought about getting going today, but so much to check out here,
So will start tomorow morning and see how I go, definately not a hare but not a tortouse either (some where in between) so will just plod on. Weather nice, but don't thinhk its going to last?
Is a beautiful village, very old, looking forward to some great food/wine. Grabed a bagget at the railway station this morning for breakfast, yum.
Got to look for some accom for tonight, keep the good weather comming, Luke

Here I am at Lyon France. arrived Paris 2.30 ish in the afternoon, grabbed my gear and across to therailway station at the airport and worked well gott into Lyon a bit afterearly evening ... but too late to catch the train to Le Puy-en-Velay .... theres 2 trains a day, one in the morning and one late afternoon. Weather is mild but cooling as night came on. Well off to bed shortly as I don't sleep well on flights and have to be up erly and down at the staion to get to Le Puy.
Weather looking OK for first few days then chilling down with some possible snow flurries and drizzle?
Well off to bed now,

Just over a day to go now, but not looking forward to flight ... though have a good book to read during flight. A lot off my friend think I'm mad ... others say can we come too.
For me its a sole journey, I will meet other pilgrims on the way ... some just a nod and a gooday, other could become close Friends? I'm looking forward to the walk ... weather looking good for first week of trip, cold nights some as low as -2degC  but the days sunny and around 16-20degC. By then I should be over the Aubrec and in lower country when the change hits around 8th  of April.
Depends on how good the forecasters are in that region, but I know that it can snow even in the middle of summer in that region.
So about 18 hours to departure .... time has flown!

2 days to departure, every thing in order ... pack a little over weight, but not sure where to cut it down. I guess a few days of walking will work out what I need and what I think I need .... time will tell.
Thought about taking a small notebook computer - but with charger etc its too heavy.
Pack at a bit over 13kg but need to thing of food and water which will most likely take it to about 15kg .... don't want it any heavier.
Starting to get excited as have all the prep done, I want to get going!
Boots and clothes working well, no chaffing or blisters .... a good sign. Though I feel a bit conspicuous walking around my local area with my pack on. Did a couple of hours this morning and will do another couple of hours, mainly hills, up and down. Big test next week?
Bye for now, Luke
